Our Course:
This intensive five-day program, of approximately 26 hours of instruction, is designed for clinicians, imaging specialists, and beginners interested in the practical use of ultrasound for infectious and tropical diseases, especially in resource-limited settings.
You’ll build a solid foundation in ultrasound physics, scanning techniques, and image interpretation — all reinforced through live scanning sessions, case-based discussions, and expert-led lectures.
The course places special emphasis on diagnosing tropical diseases such as cystic echinococcosis, ascariasis, and HIV-associated tuberculosis. You’ll also learn how to apply these techniques using portable ultrasound devices in low-resource environments.
Held in the historic city of Pavia, Italy, the course also offers opportunities to connect with peers from around the world and experience Italian culture during your stay.
Course Objectives:
