Tropical Medicine And PoC Ultrasound: An Integrated Approach

Offered by the Department of Clinical-Surgical, Diagnostic and Pediatric Sciences at the University of Pavia, this online postgraduate course is tailored for healthcare professionals working in tropical medicine and global health, with a focus on Point-of-Care Ultrasound (PoCUS) and diagnostic tools suited for resource-limited settings. It combines a strong theoretical foundation with clinical case discussions based on real-world scenarios.

While open to a broad range of healthcare providers, the course places particular emphasis on physicians and surgeons. The skills acquired will be valuable for professionals practicing both in Italy and abroad, especially in low-resource environments. Participants will gain the competencies needed to diagnose and manage infectious and communicable diseases, with targeted knowledge for operating in international health cooperation and fieldwork settings.

The faculty includes leading experts in tropical medicine and diagnostic imaging, many of whom have collaborated on international projects, scientific publications, and the long-running Short Course on Ultrasound in Infectious Disease and Tropical Medicine, which has trained professionals and students from around the world.
