Dr Francesca Tamarozzi has a MSc in parasitology and a PhD in tropical medicine from LSTM, UK. She is specialized in microbiology and holds a diploma in ultrasonography. She is currently senior research physician at the Departiment of Infectious-Tropical Diseases and Microbiology at IRCCS Sacro Cuore Don Calabria Hospital in Negrar, Italy, where she is co-head of the WHO Collaborating Centre on strongyloidiasis and other NTDs. Her practice and research focus is on the diagnosis of helminthic NTDs, especially echinococcosis, schistosomiasis, and filariasis, with imaging and laboratory techniques.
