Dr. Tom Heller specialized in internal medicine and infectious diseases and has been working in Africa for 10 years. His focus lies on care for patients with advanced HIV disease, TB co-infection and other opportunistic diseases. Throughout his career, his interests have been ultrasound protocols and application for resource-limited settings and sonographic diagnosis of infectious diseases. He taught ultrasound in Germany, Italy, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Zambia, South Africa, Ethiopia, Ghana, Gabon, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Laos and Peru.
